Now could be the time to press play on your 2025 travel plans as Virgin Australia and Qantas discount more than a million seats on flights to some of Australia's most popular destinations.

You could bag a flight from as little as $49 one-way from Sydney to Ballina Byron Bay, $59 from Melbourne to Launceston and $85 from Canberra to the Gold Coast with Virgin Australia.

Or tick off some bucket-list destinations with Virgin flights from Melbourne to Uluru from $109, Sydney to Hamilton Island from $109 and Melbourne to Perth from $189.

Chief commercial officer Dave Emerson said Virgin Australia was committed to delivering "more value and choice" to Australian travellers.

"We know our customers want great fares with exceptional service and we are always ready to go the extra mile to offer the best deals and experiences in the sky," he said.

Fares are on sale until 11:59pm on March 2 for travel on selected dates between April 30, 2025 and February 11, 2026.

If Qantas is more your style, you can fly one-way from Albury to Sydney from $149, Brisbane to Melbourne from $169, Griffith to Sydney from $179 or Adelaide to Kangaroo Island from $119.

There are one million discounted business and economy seats on offer and customers can use cash or points.

Qantas Domestic CEO Markus Svensson said the sale offered value for customers wanting to lock in their travel plans for 2025.

"We know Australians love a getaway," he said, adding there were 60 regional and capital city destinations covered.

The sale is for travel from April 29 to June 26, July 22 to September 18 and October 14 to December 10, 2025, and available until 11.59pm on March 2.
