These holiday homes are more than just a room for the night, they are experiences, such as the South Australian clifftop mansion with a cinema and infinity pool, and the Berry farm with resident chickens and horses.

And while the homes that made the top-10 list are on the pricier side, averaging from $600 to $4000 a night, there are many holiday homes out there with a more affordable price tag - these are just to get you dreaming.

Many of the listed homes achieved a 10/10 guest rating. Homes that made the cut were good for groups, had top guest reviews and ratings.

These are the top-10 holiday homes of the year on Stayz.

Sarah is ACM’s travel producer. She believes regional travel is just as fun (if not better) than staying in the big cities and loves any travel experience to do with nature, animals and food!.

My all-time favourite destination is ... Cornwall. From the giant seagulls to the blustery beaches, Cornish pasties and fishing villages, it stirs something romantic and seafaring in me.

Next on my bucket list is … Mongolia. I want to go somewhere really unique that feels totally foreign and challenges my way of life.

My top travel tip is … Don’t plan too much. Walk the streets and let it happen. And make sure you check out what’s within a few blocks of your hotel - sometimes the best local food is found that way.
