From the Med to Japan, these cruises promise deeper immersion.

One of the things some travellers don't like about cruises is that they can often feel a bit rushed. And we hear them. A rollcall of destinations, without enough time at any of the ports, may not feel as immersive. But in an industry first, Regent Seven Seas is about to change that.

The luxury cruise line has just launched six itineraries where each port of call features an overnight stay. Options range from the seven-night Mediterranean Tapestry cruise from Rome to Barcelona to the 14-night Tokyo-return Blossoms, Towers and Temples journey.

Speaking of uncharted waters, there's some exciting news from Viking Cruises, too, which has just announced its new Rhine & Main Explorer river journey. Launching in April 2025, the 11-day voyage between Basel and Nuremberg will ply the waters of two of Europe's most legendary waterways.
