The first tickets for flights between Western Sydney and New Zealand are now on sale as the opening date for Western Sydney International Airport (WSI) gets closer.

Air New Zealand is the latest airline to announce tickets from the Nancy-Bird Walton Airport, with flights taking off between Western Sydney and Auckland from October 26.

Three services per week will operate on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Flights will depart Auckland at 6.05am, arriving at WSI at 7.50am. The service will then depart WSI at 9am, arriving in Auckland at 2.15pm.

Air New Zealand will deploy its narrowbody jet fleet of A320 with 241 economy seats, or A320 with 165 economy seats, for the route.

WSI will be Sydney's first 24-hour airport. The existing Kingsford Smith airport has a curfew between 11pm and 6am nightly.

WSI chief executive Simon Hickey said the new route will give Sydneysiders "greater connectivity to New Zealand's largest city" and "more choice and flexibility" for when and where they fly from.

At time of publishing, one-way flights from WSI to Auckland with no checked baggage were selling from $361.

First Singapore tickets on sale

Air New Zealand is the second airline to release tickets from Western Sydney Airport.

Daily flights will start on November 23, 2026.

Singapore Airlines will operate its Airbus A350-900 medium-haul aircraft on the route, seating 303 passengers total across economy and business classes.

Qantas and Jetstar have also signed on with Western Sydney Airport.

My all-time favourite destination is ... Cornwall. From the giant seagulls to the blustery beaches, Cornish pasties and fishing villages, it stirs something romantic and seafaring in me.

Next on my bucket list is … Mongolia. I want to go somewhere really unique that feels totally foreign and challenges my way of life.

My top travel tip is … Don’t plan too much. Walk the streets and let it happen. And make sure you check out what’s within a few blocks of your hotel - sometimes the best local food is found that way.
