Unlike hotels, cruise ships can travel from one spot to another. No wonder many tend to follow the sun and warm weather, starting with Oceania Cruises, which has just announced a range of new sailings in the Mediterranean during the northern summer next year.

Itineraries that have just gone on sale range from the 12-day Istanbul to Athens voyage departing July 27 to the 14-day Athens to Rome cruise departing August 8.

Meanwhile, family-friendly cruise line Royal Caribbean is taking the action to Asia. From October 2025 to March 2026, the cruise line's famous ship, Ovation of the Seas, will move between Asian hotspots such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore, offering three- to eight-night escapes in the region.
